442 MXS Phase Dock pioneers field-level repair of valve, saves tens of thousands of dollars

Air Force Master Sgt. Christopher Yates, the 442d Maintenance Squadron phase dock coordinator, inspects an engineering drawing of a bleed air shut-off valve November 9, 2021, on Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. With nultiple failed valves locally and 49 backordered throughout the Air Force, Yates used the engineering drawings and technical orders to determine that the valves could be repaired at the field level.
