AF Reserve celebrates 20th anniversary as major command
The Air Force Reserve celebrated 20 years as a major command on Feb. 17, 2017. On that date 20 years ago Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Ronald R. Fogleman presided over a ceremony in Washington, D.C., that established Air Force Reserve Command as the Air Force’s ninth major command. Prior to that date, the Reserve functioned as a field operating agency or a separate operating agency.
