searching for landmarks
Senior Airman Phil Schneider looks over a highway south of Warsaw, Missouri as he calls in a simulated air strike to an A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft from the 442d Fighter Wing in his field training exercise to become a JTAC on 19 November. JTACs rely on geographic markers to direct aircraft and identify targets for airstrikes. The training gives student JTACs practice in communicating with pilots in realistic missions.
