303rd Fighter Squadron changes hands

Lt. Col. Brian Borgen, right, takes command of the 303rd Fighter Squadron during a ceremony in the 442nd Fighter Wing's 5-bay Hangar April 4, 2009. The 303rd FS is an Air Force Reserve flying squadron, operating 27 A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft. Officiating the change-of-command ceremony was Col. John Hoff, 442nd Operations Group commander (left), and the 442nd Command Chief Master Sgt., Chief Al Sturges. The squadron is part of the 442nd Fighter Wing, based at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. The squadron has deployed aircraft and pilots four times to Iraq and Afghanistan to provide close air support, combat search and rescue, and forward-air control capabilities for the Global War Against Terror.
