Bunker duty

With a watchful eye, Master Sgt. John Walton, 442nd Maintenance Squadron, sits and reflects on his two previous deployments to Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, as he admires necessary training for young Airmen going around him during an operational readiness exercise, May 15, at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. His job during the exercise is to keep the shelters ready for them to unwind in on their much needed breaks. The 442nd Maintenance Squadron is part of the 442nd Fighter Wing, an Air Force Reserve Command A-10 Thunderbolt II unit. (US Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Kent Kagarise)
