Life saver
Master Sgt. Calvin Carter's self-aid and buddy care training kicked in as he stopped to assist a stranger incapacitated by physical distress in May. Sergeant Carter's quick thinking got the man to a nearby hospital's emergency room for treatment. The man later recovered. Sergeant Carter, an Air Force reservist, is a Metals Technician assigned to the 442nd Maintenance Squadron, a part of the 442nd Fighter Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.
