A 303rd Troop Carrier Squadron C-47 Skytrain, similar to the one Jack Prince was flying when he was shot down over Normandy, France to on his way to Drop Zone "T" near St. Mere Eglise, for D-Day, June 6, 1944. The 303rd TCS was part of the 442nd Troop Carrier Croup, the World War II predecessor of the 442nd Fighter Wing, an Air Force Reserve Command A-10 Thunderbolt II unit based at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.
