Loading ammo at Bagram

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- Tech. Sgt. Roderic Ventresca, deployed here from the 442nd Maintenance Group, Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., uses an ammunition loading assembly to feed 30 mm bullets from a bin to an A-10 Thunderbolt II. Maintenance Personnel from the 442nd MXG are rotating on 30- to 120-day tours to support Operation Enduring Freedom here. In addition to maintenance Airmen, pilots, lifesupport people and intelligence specialists are deployed from the 442nd Fighter Wing's 303rd Fighter Squadron. The 442nd Fighter Wing is an Air Force Reserve unit and this is the third time the wing has deployed aircraft and people since 2001. (US Air Force photo/Maj. David Kurle)
