Tech. Sgt. Scott Avery sorts spent 30 mm shell casings during an ammunition loading operation for an A-10 Thunderbolt II at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, on Sunday, July 16. Weapons loaders use a machine, called an automatic loading assembly, to simultaneously download old ammunition and upload new ammunition for the A-10's 30 mm rotating cannon. Sergeant Avery is an Air Force Reserve weapons loader deployed from the 442nd Fighter Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. (U.S. Air Force photo/Maj. David Kurle)
