Sunset targets

The setting sun sillhouettes the strafing pit at Cannon Range, near Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. On the left is an old armored personnel carrier used as a target by pilots making strafing runs at the range, as well as a target net hung between two poles. The range is vital to the continuous training of A-10 pilots from the Air Force Reserve's 442nd Fighter Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., as well as pilots from other Reserve, Guard and active-duty units across the country. Cannon Range is managed and operated by the Missouri Air National Guard's 131st Fighter Wing. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Leo Brown)
