Combat glider construction

Kansas City's American Royal arena was one of several U.S. locations where the Waco CG-4A combat glider was built during World War II. Unlike the it's predecessor the CG-3A, pictured in the American Royal Arena here, the CG-4A could not only carry troops, it was capable of carrying a jeep with a trailer, a 75-mm howitzer or a specially-made small bulldozer.
