T-38

Sergeant Bannon rode with 1st Lt. Jason Boman, 509th Bomb Wing pilot, for just over an hour in the T-38 aircraft. Sergeant Bannon said he recognized several of the same instruments as in the A-10 Thunderbolt II, which helped to put his job as the IATS shop chief in perspective by highlighting the importance of each maintenance position. Sergeant Bannon is part of the 442nd Maintenance Squadron of the 442nd Fighter Wing, and Air Force Reserve unit. Both the 509th Bomb Wing and the 442nd Fighter Wing are located at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Jessica Snow)
