Confined-space exercise
Emergency personnel assist a "victim" during a confined-space exercise April 20, 2012 conducted by the 442nd Maintenance Squadron. The exercise, mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Air Force Instruction and Air Force Occupational Safety and Health, simulated a technician falling unconscious in an A-10 Thunderbolt II fuel tank. Technicians simulated harnessing and lifting the injured Airmen from the fuselage, performing self aid and buddy care, and assisting emergency personnel.
