The First United Methodist Church of Sedalia is scheduling a Spouses Night Out for the significant others of deployed military members July 11.

There will be a Pajama and Movie Night for their children between the ages of 0 through fourth grade so the parents can enjoy an evening without having to find or pay for a babysitter.

All volunteers for the event have undergone professional certified childcare training and thorough background checks to ensure the safety of the children.

"Military family members make sacrifices just like the servicemembers do, though they didn't sign up for it," said Senior Master Sgt. Matthew Youkey, 442nd Force Support Squadron first sergeant. "We need to take care of them just as much as our deployers."
