A "how-to" guide for base access: Deployment Homecoming 2014

We are getting excited about the homecoming of all our deployed Airmen!  To make sure that everyone who wants to welcome home family and friends has base access for the homecoming, we are providing the following tips to make it easy for you:

1)  Any family member with a military ID card will be responsible for signing other family members and friends on to the base.  TWO FORMS OF GOVERNEMENT ISSUED IDENTIFICATION ARE NEEDED FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO DO NOT HAVE A MILITARY/DEPENDENT ID CARD.  We suggest carpooling to make this easier.  For faster access, you may want to meet family and friends the day before at the Whiteman Visitor's Center and get three-day passes for those without DoD IDs.  Lines may be long at the Visitor's Center on the day of arrival. Children 15 years old or younger do not need ID and can be signed on base with an adult who has been approved for entry.

2) If no one in your family has a military ID, then you can email us the FULL NAME (INCLUDING MIDDLE NAME), SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, DATE OF BIRTH, DRIVER'S LICENSE NUMBER & STATE OF ISSUE for everyone in your group.  The name we turn in must match exactly with the ID provided on the day of arrival. Be aware that all individuals requesting base access will undergo a background check.

On day of arrival, you must bring the ID that was used for your pass as well as one of the following: Passport, Social Security Card, valid State ID Card, or valid School ID Card.  Those who are under the age of 18 and do not have a driver's license may use a school ID along with one of the above approved IDs.

3) Any foreign national requiring base access needs to contact the Whiteman Visitor's Center at (660) 687-2833 for access requirements. Keep in mind that two-week's notice is needed to clear foreign nationals for base access.

We look forward to seeing you all this month!
