"Spring" into fitness

It's warming up outside and, if you're like me, you are ready to put winter behind you.  The extra pounds that somehow were gained since last December need to come off!

Just last week I came across two SNCOs from the Mission Support Group who were getting ready to head over to the Fitness Center at the end of their duty day.  They explained that they had teamed up about six weeks ago and got serious about their fitness regimen.  Since starting, they've both already lost 15-plus pounds each.  I don't know about you, but I sure was impressed and a bit envious.

Every day I bring my workout gear to work so if I can find the time, I can head over to the Fitness Center.  I've come to learn that I almost never find the time.  There always seems to be something that comes up and I need to get it done right away.

If you are going to be successful establishing a serious fitness program, then you are going to have to "make" the time for it instead of "finding" the time for it.  Follow the lead of those two SNCOs, team up with someone to help keep you on track and push you along.

Remember: the most important thing is that fitness is more than skin deep. Our goal has to be more than cosmetic.  Fitness is a life style! Find what works for you! Do you enjoy playing soccer outdoors with your friends? Do you enjoy solitary running? Now is the time to enjoy some of the sunshine we have been waiting for.
