Happy 4th of July from AFRC Published July 2, 2015 By Command Chief Cameron B. Kirksey AFRC command chief WHITEMAN AFB, Missouri -- Fellow Citizen Airmen, This is the perfect time of year to reflect on the history of our great country. On July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress approved the Declaration of Independence, cutting the colonies' ties to the British Crown and initiating democracy. Their bold leadership continues to inspire us today. Just as we are inspired by the service of those who came before us, we will continue to inspire future generations of Citizen Airmen. Honor the sacrifices of the men and women who defended the freedom this nation's forefathers fought hard to secure and be proud of your service to our country. Also, while you are out celebrating, keep safety in mind! This year's quest for zero campaign focuses on reducing mishaps by applying risk management to all of our decisions. If you're traveling, wear a seat belt, don't drink and drive and get plenty of rest before you begin your trip. If you're out in the sun, remember to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated and use sound decision making in every situation. I wish you all a safe and happy Fourth of July! Remember, I am here for you!
