Maj. William Dunn, Jr., assumed command of the 476th Maintenance Squadron December 3, 2023, in a ceremony held in the Capt. Weber room on Moody Air Force Base, Ga.

As the new commander, he took on the role of leading an integrated team of civilian, Active Guard/Reserve, Air Reserve Technician, and Traditional Reserve personnel in 19 diverse specialties providing Total Force Integration within the 23d Maintenance Group.

Prior to this assignment, Dunn served as the Director of Operations of the 916th Maintenance Squadron at Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C.

Stepping into the shoes of these historic Vanguards, for Dunn, means tying the laces of being the first and the best.

“Vanguard Excellence is who we are… what we do… and I’m proud to lead this Squadron,” said Dunn at the ceremony.
