Lt. Col. Scott “Duece” Siems took command of the 442d Operations Support Squadron from Lt. Col. Aaron “Lindy” Linderman October 1, 2021 in a ceremony held in the 5-bay maintenance hangar on Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.

During his speech, Siems thanked his family and paralleled the lessons he teaches children to his views on command, stating everyone should strive daily to practice kind words, grace, and respect – the combination of which, he said, can carry anyone through any life situation.

“You can’t always choose the path that you walk in life,” he said during his remarks, quoting the book On Fire by John O’Leary, “but you can always choose the manner in which you walk it.”

The 442d OSS stood up in August 2021. Previously, it had been the 442d Operations Support Flight, under Linderman’s command, and Linderman remained in command of the newly-formed squadron until Siems took over.
