WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. -- Meet Staff Sgt. Gabrielle Pearl, a supply management specialist for the 442d Logistics Readiness Squadron.
442d Public Affairs: “What is work like for you here in the LRS?”
Staff Sgt. Gabrielle Pearl: “My job usually consists of issuing out gear, like gas masks. We are pretty much like the customer service of the Air Force so we get to interact with the customers, making sure that they have all of their equipment.”
PA: “What is the most interesting part of your job?”
P: “I think the most interesting part of my job is that we are able to participate in so many exercises and go to different locations as far as training and deployments.”
PA: “What is your background?”
P: “I joined with parental consent when I was 17, and I have been in for seven years now. My main reason for joining was due to my mom’s history with the military Air Force wise, she actually wasn’t able to complete her experience because she had a health discharge. However, I got the opportunity to have a mentor who was in the Air Force which also helped a lot, but I knew that I wanted to be part of something that I felt was bigger than myself. I feel like that’s what the military has allowed me to do.”
PA: “ Do you have any plans for the future?”
P: “Yes, I actually am in college right now finishing up my degrees in biology and psychology. I am wanting to commission into medical someday, but my ultimate goal is to be an anesthesiologist.”
