The 442nd Fighter Wing will hold its unit training assembly Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2 and 3, despite a winter storm that moved through the Whiteman Air Force Base area on Thursday.

After spending part of Friday assessing road conditions around Whiteman, Col. Robert "Steve" Arthur, 442nd Fighter Wing commander, made the decision to continue with plans to hold the UTA this weekend.

Snow removal is being done to the taxi and runways here and crews were clearing roads and parking lots on the base as of Friday afternoon, Colonel Arthur said.

"There will be a UTA this weekend," he said.

The colonel did stress that if any Reservist lives in an area where the roads are unsafe, they should arrange to reschedule the UTA for another time.

"It's not worth having someone get hurt trying to drive in unsafe conditions," he said. "They should feel free to re-schedule."

Any 442nd Fighter Wing Reservist with questions should call their supervisor, first sergeant or call 1-800-260-0253 and press option six for reporting information.
