442nd FW commander nominated for first general's star

The chief of Air Force Reserve announced the president has approved the nomination to promote six one-star generals and 12 colonels to the next higher rank in the Air Force Reserve.

Included on the list is Col. Robert S. "Steve" Arthur, commander of the 442nd Fighter Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. He was nominated for the rank of brigadier general and must still be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.

Also included is Brigadier General Thomas R. Coon, commander of the 442nd Fighter Wing's next higher headquarters, 10th Air Force, based in Fort Worth, Texas.

Nominated for promotion to major general are:

Brig. Gens. Robert B. Bartlett, mobilization assistant to the commander of 12th Air Force, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz.

Thomas R. Coon, commander of 10th Air Force, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Carswell Field, Texas

James F. Jackson, MA to the deputy chief of staff, strategic plans and programs, Headquarters Air Force, Pentagon, Washington

Brian P. Meenan, MA to the director, air, space and information operations, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Ill.

Charles E. Reed Jr., MA to the commander, 18th Air Force, Scott AFB, IL

James T. Rubeor, deputy to the chief of Air Force Reserve, Headquarters Air Force, Pentagon, Washington

Nominated for promotion to brigadier general are:

David S. Post, MA to the director of strategic plans, requirements and programs, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB

Robert D. Rego, MA to the director of air, space and information operations, Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Peterson AFB, Colo.

These promotions take effect upon U.S. Senate confirmation and by the direction of the chief of Air Force Reserve.
