Volunteers from a private company in Kansas City lent their time and cooking talents to produce a barbecue feast for Air Force Reservists in the 442nd Fighter Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., Nov. 7.

The all-volunteer force from Fishnet Security, INC., cooked barbecue pork, beef brisket, potato salad and beans for more than 1,200 hungry reservists as a way to thank the wing for its military service.

While the volunteer barbecuers have cooked for units within the wing before, this was the first time the whole 442nd enjoyed a meal at one time.  After cooking all day, the volunteers served up the food buffet-style in the wing' s 5-Bay Hangar.

The food for the feast was donated by other private organizations, such as the National Beef and Farmland Foods Association and cooked by the Fishnet Security volunteers.

The men and women from Fishnet Security has been barbecuing for U.S. military units for more than four years, as a way to say "thank you" for defending our Nation's freedom.
