During the August unit training assembly the 442nd Fighter Wing Human Resources Development Council and the 509th Bomb Wing teamed up to sponsor the Armed Services Blood Drive.

More than 140 people participated in the drive, with 120 units shipped directly to Iraq and Afghanistan for injured personnel.

"For those of us who aren't deployed, it gives an opportunity to support those who are," said Maj. Cathy Roberts, 442nd FW HRDC co-chairperson. "It takes 30 minutes to save a life for someone who is making the sacrifices I can't make right now."

The 442nd HRDC is currently working with the 509th BM to schedule future blood drives to support the ASB program.
