Base closure procedures for inclement weather Published Dec. 21, 2011 442nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. -- The 442nd Fighter Wing leadership would like to remind members they may determine base closure status through one of the following options: 442nd Fighter Wing website: In the left column of the main page, the base operating status will show if it base is open, closed or has a delayed-reporting time. Facebook page: To find the page, log in to facebook and search, "442nd Fighter Wing." This is the official page of the 442nd FW. It will generally be the first web page that is updated after notification of base closure or delay. Whiteman weather line: (800) 260-0253, option 6. Please do not call security forces or base operations for operating status. AtHoc notifications: From a government computer at Whiteman AFB, you may right click the purple globe labeled "Whiteman AFB EMNS [Powered by AtHoc]" in the icon tray at the bottom right hand side of your screen. Click on "Access Self Service" and select the appropriate CAC credentials. On the "My Info" tab, select the radial button, "Opt-in." It is set up this way so that all 442nd FW members will not receive the notifications during the week. Only those members who set the option as "civilian" and opt in, will receive the AtHoc notification during the week. Ensure that you update your phone number and e-mail address on the "Contact Info" tab as well.
