Security forces reservists scheduled to deploy in March Published Jan. 24, 2013 By Senior Airman Wesley Wright 442nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. -- Approximately 25 reservists from the 442nd Fighter Wing here will deploy in mid-March in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The reservists, most of whom maintain civilian employment in the local area, are assigned to the 442nd Security Forces Squadron, which is part of the 442nd Fighter Wing. While deployed, the reservists will engage in base security operations, such as manning entry control points, providing flightline security and conducting vehicle searches. The 442nd Fighter Wing is an A-10 Thunderbolt II Air Force Reserve unit here. The reservists are expected to return in September.
