442nd Troop Carrier Group during WW II

The World War II emblem of the 442nd Troop Carrier Group, which dropped para-troops and towed gliders full of airborne soldiers onto the battle fields of Europe. The group was the forerunner of today's 442nd Fighter Wing, which is an Air Force Reserve unit based at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.
