442d Fighter Wing Airman & Family Readiness

The 442d Airmen & Family Readiness Center (442 A&FRC) offers assistance in the following programs:

1) Pre-Separation/Transition Assistance Program [TAP]

   Access the “TAP Deliverables” document at the top of the page.  This must be submitted when Active Duty orders of 180+ days are requested/directed.

2) Deployment support (4 Phases: Pre, During, Post and Reintegration)

3) Financial Readiness (Briefings offered: First Duty Station, Pre/Post-Deployment, and Retirement)

4) Key Spouse

During the Unit Training Assembly for traditional reservists, the 442d Airman & Family Readiness Center offers services and classes for traditional reservists and civilians specifically for personal financial readiness and the Transition Assistance Program.

Reservists assigned to the 442d Fighter Wing can take part in other Airmen & Family Readiness programs with the 509th Bomb Wing Airmen & Family Readiness Center, the host Center for Whiteman Air Force Base. Monday through Friday, reservists in any duty status can participate in classes offered for programs such as: Relocation Assistance, Employment Assistance, Work Life Programs, the Transition Assistance Program and Financial Readiness (classes for Marriage, Divorce, 1st Child, disabling sickness or condition & lump sum eligibility).  Other programs are also available, but participation may be dependent upon duty (Title 10) status.  Programs include, but may not be limited to, the following;

Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP), AF Families Forever/Gold Star Families, Respite Care via AFPAS, Casualty Assistance, Volunteer Program and Air Force Aid.

The Air Force Reserve Psychological Health Advocacy Program is available to reservists and their immediate families. According to the PHAP website, reservists and their families can call the 24-hour call center in order to indicate a need and PHAP will locate resources in the local area to assist. PHAP team members will follow a case to ensure the military member’s needs are met. The PHAP will also reach out to family members during all stages of a deployment for a welfare check upon the member’s request.

PHAP will coordinate referral resources for:
Services for children, suicide prevention, substance abuse awareness, mental health awareness, financial management, anger management, domestic violence awareness and prevention and employment assistance.

In addition to PHAP, Military One Source a resource available to reservists and their immediate family members, offers non-medical counseling for up to 12 sessions per issue. A reservist in any duty status and their immediate family can utilize these services.

Military One Source counselors are available for non-medical counseling online, over the phone, in person, or video conference. The military or family member will be screened over the phone and an appointment will be made within three days of a screened issue.
