WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. -- With an eye toward keeping her aircraft in top condition both inside and out, Airman 1st Class Samantha Lane, a 442nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, wipes up excess oil residue and dirt inside an A-10 Thunderbolt II wheel well. As a crew chief Airman Lane helps ensure the aircraft are always mission ready. The 442nd AMXS is part of the 442nd Fighter Wing, an Air Force Reserve Command unit based here.
