Maintenance Group honors dedicated crew chiefs

Tech. Sgt. Carolyn Schafer, left, accepts a dedicated-crew-chief certificate from Col. Mark Clemons, the 442nd Fighter Wing commander, during a dedicated-crew-chief ceremony April 4, 2009, in the wing's 5-Bay maintenance hangar. Sergeant Schafer and her fellow crew chiefs in the 442nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron were honored in a ceremony to recognize the importance of crew chiefs in the operation and maintenance of the wing's A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft. Crew chiefs' names are painted on the sides of the wing's A-10s signifying the responsibility each one has for the wing's 27 airplanes.
