Rescue exercise

A 442nd Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter from Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., "rescues" a crewmember from a "crashed " aircraft at the Silver Flag exercise area at Tyndall AFB, Fla.. Detachment 1, 823rd RED HORSE (Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers) Squadron at Tyndall hosts the exercise and used a decommissioned F-4 Phantom fighter placed in the woods on the Silver Flag site to provide a more realistic scenario of an aircraft crash as a training aid.
