COLONEL ED CULLUMBER

Lt. Col. Ed Cullumber is the commander of the 442d Medical Squadron, Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. The 442d Medical Squadron is a component of the 442d Fighter Wing, an Air Force Reserve Command A-10 Thunderbolt II unit. 

Lt. Col. Cullumber is a native of St. Louis, Mo.  He received his direct commission with the Missouri Army National Guard in 1993 into the Army Medical Service Corps.  He spent over 13 years with the Army National Guard, first assigned to the State Area Readiness Command as a social work officer and then assigned to an Area Support Medical Battalion initially as the mental health officer and then as the battalion (S2/S3) intelligence and operations officer.  In this role, he was responsible for the planning, training, and execution of missions for subordinate companies and the battalion. 

Lt. Col. Cullumber entered the Air Force Reserve in 2006 into the Biomedical Services Corps and was assigned to the 442d Medical Squadron as a clinical social worker.  In 2010 he became the deputy commander of that unit.  As a civilian, Lt. Col. Cullumber is the Chief Operating Officer of Family Service and Guidance Center in Topeka, Kansas.
