Press Release: 358 FS deceased Airman

WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. --

Master Sgt. Richard Weigl, an Airman assigned to the 358th Fighter Squadron, was found dead off base on Saturday, July 20, at approximately 3:00 p.m.

"Our hearts are heavy and our Total Force family is deeply saddened by the loss of a valued member," said Lt. Col. Gregory Stack, the 358th FS commander. "Master Sgt. Weigl truly cared for this unit, his job and his Airmen. Our efforts are focused on supporting the grieving family and those who grieve with them. Our chaplains, Airman and Family Readiness and other resources are here to support any Air Force family member in need."

The incident remains under investigation by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.
